Daugavpils ist die zweitgrößte Stadt Lettlands und Universitätsstadt und hat rund 112.000 Einwohner. Daugavpils liegt im Südosten Lettlands, ca. 230 km von Riga entfernt und hat drei Straßenbahnlinien. Dauavpils ist mit dem Zug in dreieinhalb bis vier Stunden von Riga aus erreichbar. Daugavpils is the second largest city in Latvia, a university town and has some 112.000 inhabitants. Daugavpils is located appr. 230 km south-east of the capital of Latvia, Riga and has three tramway lines. Daugavpils can be reached by train from Riga in about three-and-a-half to four hours.
