Athen U-Bahn - Athens underground

Die U-Bahn in Athen hat drei Linien, eine (von Piräus ausgehend als Vorortebahn) wurde 1869 eröffnet, 1904 elektrifiziert und 1957 durch die Athener Innenstadt verlängert. Die anderen beiden Linien wurden 2000 resp. 2003 eröffnet. Die letzte Verlängerung fand 2022 statt. Die Gesamtlänge des Metronetzes beträgt ca. 88,5 km und umfaßt 51 Stationen.

The underground in Athens has three lines, one (from Piraeus as a suburban line) was opened in 1869, electrified in 1904 and extended through the centre of Athens in 1957. The other two lines were opened in 2000 and 2003 respectively. The last extension took place in 2022. The total length of the metro network is approx. 88.5 km and comprises 51 stations.
