Berlin U-Bahn

Berlins U-Bahnnetz ist 155 km lang und hat 175 Stationen. Es gibt ein Kleinprofilnetz (Wagenbreite 2,30 m, U1-U4 ) und ein Großprofilnetz (Wagenbreite 2,65m, U5-U9). Beiden gemein ist die Spannung von 750V Gleichstrom. Die Kleinprofillinien haben eine seitliche Stromschiene, die von oben bestrichen wird und deren Polaritöt positiv ist. Bei den Großprofillinien wird die Stromschiene von unten bestrichen und die Polarität ist negativ.

There is a small-profile network (Kleinprofil, car width 2.30 m, U1-U4 ) and a large-profile network (Großprofil, car width 2.65 m, U5-U9). What both have in common is the voltage of 750V direct current. The small-profile lines have a upward facing third rail and whose polarity is positive. In the case of the large profile lines, the third rail is downward facing and the polarity is negative.
