Palermo Straßenbahn tram

Die Linie 1 ist mit 5,5 km Länge die längste in Palermos Straßenbahnnetz. Sie hat eine Sonderstellung, weil sie mit den anderen Linien nicht verbunden ist. Das heißt sie verfügt auch über einen eigenen Betriebshof.

Line 1 is with 5.5 km the longest in Palermo's tram network. This line is special as it is not linked with the other three lines. For that it has an own depot.

Die Linien 2, 3 und 4 starten bei der Eisenbahnstation Notarbartolo. Die Linien 2 und 3 sind je 5 km lang, die Linie 4 mit 4,1 km etwas kürzer. Vier Stationen lang teilen sie sich die Strecke, dann biegt die Linie 4 ab, die Linien 2 und 3 verzweigen sich nur im Endbereich.

These lines start at the railway station Notarbartolo. Lines 2 and 3 are each 5 km long - and run most of the time on the same tracks, only seperated at the end of the lines. Line 4 is 4.1 km long and has only some four stations together with the other two lines.

Palermo hatte schon einmal eine Straßenbahn, von 1887 bis 1947. Ab den 1980er Jahren machte man sich wieder Gedanken über eine Straßenbahn. Die ist seit Ende 2015 wieder Wirklichkeit. Die Garnituren waren in Wien schon davor zu sehen.

Palermo had already a tram, from 1887 till 1947. In the 1980s new thoughts about a tram arrived. Since the end of 2015 the tramway is reality.
